Message:

 “We are always trying to give something back to our community” states Steve Roberts, brain child of the “Message to our Military” idea.  We are currently offering Free Healthy Credit/ ID Theft Seminars once a month.  Seniors in local high schools are also learning about credit through our Healthy Credit Seminar as well.  “We are active in our community and are always looking for more ways to help, it’s a "family affair” said Steve, the Branch Manager of Candor – Knoxville.

 We came up with the idea after a friend of ours in Tampa suggested we follow his lead and start producing A Wednesday Tips segment, a video post card he has been doing for several years - that is sent to his clients, friends, family and Realtors®.  He said his audience loves to watch the videos each week - because of his bad acting - but sometimes because of the interesting or relevant content.  He said the whole office loves doing them and the readership in incredible. 

 “Sandra, our office gate-keeper came up with the idea of using our technology and letting families in Knox County that have loved ones serving our Country abroad, send a video message to them from their families.  “I’m sure it still gets pretty lonely and quiet when they are so far away.  I wish we could have done this when you were serving in Vietnam.”  said Sandra.

 What we did was start here in Knox County in October and produced 53 videos and provided them for service men and women around the world, but mostly in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a huge success as we sent the best "Care Package" we could think of to our local Troops.

 We want to extend this service to the surrounding counties now but will make it available to anyone by appointment, preferable on Saturday. We are willing, however, to meet with you anytime to record your message.

 Here’s how it works: If you would like to send a free video to your family member that is serving our country in the Armed Forces, call Candor Mortgage Corp. at 865-824-9346 or email us at yourmessage@comcast.net.  Put “Message for our Military” in the subject line.  We will email you back with the confirmation and scheduled time to meet you or you can meet us at the Powell Branch of the Knoxville Public Library.  It is located about one mile west of I-75 on W. Emory Road.  We look forward to sending your loved one a personalized, one–of-a–kind message from you and your family.  Please remember to bring a valid email address of your service member and we will see you soon!
